I never heard of that one. I busted a cam many years ago truing the head like
an idiot. Simple cure was a used head.
 
Anyone have a rebuildable head for our friend?

Lots of times it is harmonic vibration that breaks cams and cranks.  Perhaps
a bad crank damper or loose cam chain could have contributed to the problem.
The cam is fairly brittle and can shatter if dropped.  It is possible that
your cam was dropped and it took a while for the damage to show.
