Hey all,
Someone here posted info about starter motor problems.
Interestingly enough, I'm having the exact same issues.
Car is a 1600 stroker, with headers.
Starter was completely rebuilt.
Car has 1000 miles on it since the rebuild, and the starter motor just
died. I had to push start it all last night, which actually wasn't a
big deal because the thing is so darn light.
When I turned the key, I got NOTHING. Jumping the back of the switch
didn't make it start either, so I know it's NOT the switch. I've got a
spare that was also rebuilt, so I'm going to put it in today.
So I'm wondering if the heat from the headers is "frying" the solenoid,
or something. I think I might build a heat shield for the thing.
Thoughts?
Eddie
