Hi Bill,
I JUST had my H209 RE-built because of a low oil pressure problem. The
crankshaft has holes in it to lube the bearings. If a bearing slips,
the hole gets covered, and the oil pressure drops.
In my case, a bearing melted, and the melted metal plugged the oil lube
hole...
The cause we suspect was due to not enough pre-lube when the guy rebuilt
it, AND because he put the distributor drive in wrong, and it took
awhile to figure that out, it was cranked a number of times to get it
started. The thought is that the cranking may have dried the bearing out...
But, that's speculation.
It is also IMPERATIVE that you pre-oil the entire car before starting.
I used a "pressure can" full of oil, inserted the tip into the oil gauge
hole, and forced oil inside the entire thing so it wasn't starting "dry"
