I second with Dewey. I have used the first book for years. I have done
cosmetic body work and painted four cars (drivers) in my driveway based on
the info in this book supplemented with some internet searches (like paint
and spray pressure info).
I use a HVLP gun and get my paint relatively cheaply at
www.carpaintonline.com It's almost have the price of the automotive paint
shops in town.
The results are good - not great - always some "runs, drips and errors" as
the old Krylon commercial goes - but for me, there is no car work more fun
than "throwing paint"!

Subject: Re: [Roadsters] Body work reference book recommendation?
Fergus, I can suggest 2 books that have helped me.
HP Book "Pro Paint and Body" by Jim Richardson with Tom Horvath.
Krause Book "Eddie Paul's Paint & Bodywork Handbook"
