Funny how we keep things from cars we loved.
I purchased a 68 2000 new, and 16 months later a lady made a left turn in
front of a Ford station wagon and hit my car in the next lane, totaling my
car. In the accident the 2000 chrome came off of the front fender. I still
have it, and when Mr. Hyde is finally painted that part will go on the rear
of the car. Even though it has a bit of damage from the impact with a Chevy
I still feel a connection to my first roadster through that part from it.
This same type of accident almost happened to me again in Mr. Hyde again
Sunday afternoon. This time I was able to swerve around the sudden
appearance of the other car and weave my way past the offending SUV and
another car without being hit or hitting anyone. Twice is more than enough.
The last close call was a crazy guy in a Lambo....

I had a 1982 Maxima with the voice-warning system, it was a feature
that helped convince me to buy the car brand new. Unfortunately, it
didn't have a warning track that said "Look out, red-light runner!".
In the late 90s I got broadsided and the car was totaled. Me and Annie
miss hearing the voices from that car! I kept the rear trunk nameplate
"DATSUN by NISSAN" and it's glued on the dash glovebox door of my '66
roadster.
