For some time I've thought a brake switch that sensed deceleration would be a
great idea for sports cars and motorcycles, but never knew one existed. You
can slow down fairly quickly down shifting and most of the people on the road
these days have only driven automatics and think the ONLY way a vehicle slows
down at all is via the brakes (so if the brake lights aren't on, it isn't
slowing down--even if it is--duh).
On windy mountain roads, no big deal, as there should never be anyone right
behind you--at least in a 2000. But on L.A. freeways, it could save one from
getting rear ended.
