shawn, i agree with fergus, 900-1000 rpm for the u-20 eng. is fine for several
reasons: oil pressure is one. i dont like to see very low oil press. when
idling( i realize that even when the gauge is showing zero, there is still
15-20 lbs. or more oil press.)
another is, that the u-20 eng. is by design,a rough running 4 cyl.
other 4 cyl's have balance shafts. for some reason, big displacement
(2,2.5,3.0, liter) 4 cyl. eng. idle rough. i let my u-20 idle at 1000-1300
rpm. as the folks at nissan like to say, enjoy the ride! bob smith
