If by "structural" you mean that it will contribute to the stiffness of
the chassis - it would have to be one hellacious rollbar (think Golden
Gate Bridge tower - North or South, take your pick) - the Roadster has a
pretty stout frame. Convertibles are heavier than their hardtop
counterparts because a hardtop body is a more efficient (strength for
weight) way of providing torsional stiffness than building stiffness
into the low plane of a ladder frame.
