My Opinion-> The seller is selling a 1967.5 model SPL311, not a 1961
Prototype Datsun.
Though the seller concedes it could be a fluke problem with DMV, but the car
is represented in large type as possibly a '1961 Japanese Prototype'..
".....perhaps it's a real-deal prototype from 1961 of what would be become
the 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster, the DMV tells me this car was manufactured
and registered in California in 1961 but first sold by a dealer in the United
States in 1967."
The seller openly & clearly concedes that he doesn't know if this is a 1961
car.
However, the facts point to simply that the California DMV made a clerical
mistake and switched a digit 7 for a digit 1 on the title.
The car is missing the unique features of the 1961 Prototype SPL310 vehicle.
Also, the fact that a member on this list owns the Prototype left hand drive
vehicle shown at the New York Autoshow makes the seller's claim suspect.

So, roadster experts out there....Do you think this is a special 1961
Prototype car or simply a 1967.5 SPL311 with a small typo on the title?

PS: In 1961 in California the original type license plates would be the
Yellow License Plates (1956-1962).

People seem not to read the entire ebay post, combined with not
understanding the rules of ebay. Below user Ruth comments that the
description said something different before, but descriptions can't be
changed once there are bids, so it couldn't have said something
different last time she looked.
Regarding user Mark Dent's comment, the description doesn't say anything
refutable about family -- it says his family, friends and acquaintances
have wanted this model car. Why can't he know the history regardless of
how long he's owned the car?
