Dave,
The original cork gasket I have for a 1600 is more like 3/16-inches thick.
You shouldn't need much torque to seal this baby.
I understand the U20 cam cover is easier to crack, and all I do with that is
grip my ratchet right at the head, and hand tighten. Pretty much what Patti
said.
