[Roadsters] Reinstalling Window Mechanism

There is a 'bit' of metal (thin, probably aluminum ) that rides on the door
opening mechanism that is interfering with a happy reinstallation of my driver
window slide mechanism.

Any ideas where it should be and what I may do about it ??
