You can take the resistor off the stock coil. It is on there to protect the
points which you don't have any more. You may want a hotter coil anyway but
the stock coil will work. I've used an accel before with good results.

Boone's? Now I need a 12V coil (which I didn't think about at the time, in
the glow of Solvang). I'm pretty sure that I've read on the list that I
can't take the resistor off of the stock coil. So, suggestions on what 12V
coil installs most easily/works well/etc?
