on my early 67 low windshield 1600, the metal gas line goes almost to the
radiator, loops up, and then is connected to a hose, filter, more hose, and
loops back around to the fuel pump.
am i missing something? i am thinking of cutting it off maybe a foot after
the firewall, then connecting a hose and filter and hose to the pump. why
does it need to loop so far forward?
NOTE: i am reassembling the car; it has been apart for months; there is no
fuel or vapor in the line, carbs, or gas tank; the gas tank was taken out
and refurbished; and i will blow it out just to be sure before i cut it.
i'm not naiive!
