IIRC, there was a discussion (or two?) regarding the use of sealants on
gaskets. I believe the majority opinion was to ensure the mating surfaces
are as clean and straight and unblemished as possible. If you use any
sealant (again, various suggestions as long as it's non-hardening), use it
sparingly as you do -NOT- want to have any excess squeeze inside and muck up
the thermostat.

Subject: Water tower gasket question
Does any one use anything to seal the water tower gaskets? Or are the
gaskets enough? I am referring to a '70 1600 that is desmogged.
If I get an answer before I run into town, I am hoping to be back on the
