You have a broken shift fork or a sheared off roll pin. You were lucky that
it happened with the tranny stuck in neutral. You must separate the halves
of the. Hopefully it is just a sheared roll pin. You won't need to do much
surgery to replace it. You just tap out the broken parts of the roll pin
and insert a new one. You might think about drilling the hole a little
bigger and using a larger roll pin. You can also put a second roll pin at
90 degrees from the first one. I gave up on the roadster trannys after
breaking several shift forks and roll pins. I looks possible to mate a
KA24DE tranny to the roadster bell housing but I haven't investigated too
much.

Subject: 5 speed
I have lost 1st and second gears in 5 speed. Nothing happens when I move
shifter. No noise no resistence.
Ideas? 3rd,4th, 5th work and reverse.
I have another 5 speed with broken first gear shift fork. I have replacement
fork. How hard is it to replace?
An suggestions on good blow up of transmissions? I have parts manual; but
blow ups there are not enough...
Since I have a 4.62 rear end any danger of damage to trans if I install it
(trans with broken 1st gear shift fork) and use only 2nd,3rd,4th,5th? I am
using this as track car so never drop below about 25mph...
I am experienced with engines but not transmissions.
Any help apprciated.
