> Does anybody know what the plastic tube is on top of the transmission is? It's the breather port. Keeps air pressure balanced so hot oil doesn't try to squirt past the seals. This part is metal on some (older?) boxes. Intact, there's a little loose-fitting 'cap' on the end so contaminants can't splash into the case.
