Ain't that the truth! I tested a pair of horns I'd removed from a Mercedes
(well, horns is horns, pretty much) in a junkyard and, even though I was
expecting some commotion, it still took me by surprise. Came near to braining
myself on the hood of the car when I hooked the buggers up to a battery...

They'll also sound a -LOT- louder out of the car, so be ready for that.

Oliver,
Connect away! The horns each run off 12 volts when you press the horn
button, so it won't hurt anything to connect them to a battery, one at a
time, or both at one time. The horns can be taken apart to clean the
contacts, or just clean the crud out. Mark how the horns are so you can
put them back together the same way they come apart. There is also an
adjustment on the back of each horn to set the tone/volume. urn the
adjustment until the horn sound right. As I recall there is a drain hole
on the back part of each horn that needs to be at the bottom when they
are re-installed in the car.
Have fun!
Peace,
Pat
