Joe,

I just had the same discussion on the Bluebirds list regarding replacing the
Weber DGV 32/36 downdraft w/ SU's on the L20B in my PL411, and the response
was exactly what Ronnie just said, but, to be clear,

- the roadster manifold will -NOT- bolt directly onto a L-series motor. Best
is to find the Nissan SU manifold for the L.
- unless you've got the big cam, etc, the smaller 38mm SU's are more
practical/streetable than the bigger 44's that came on 2000's and Z's.

Joe,

Short answer is that, yes, I've seen 2000 manifolds cut down and fit onto an
L-4, but it's far easier to just buy the Nissan manifold built for it. The
bigger 2000 carbs can be made to work on bigger modified motors, but a set
of rebuilt 38mm from Z-Therapy is really the best place to start. Check out
Z-Therapy or the classifieds on the Dime Quarterly website. Whatever you do
make sure the carbs, any carb, are in good shape with no leaky shafts and
the the manifold and head surfaces are straight and clean.

FWIW,
Ron
