Try http://www.licenseplates.tv/.  They did a set of Maryland reproductions 
for my  '66 Datsun 411 SSS that look great.  I run  them as "originals" (and 
just keep the current antique plates in the car).

I think they have repros for most any state, lots of foreign stuff (I have a 
Japanese plate on the back of my race car) and just about anything else you 
might want.

I think I paid about $70.
