Matthew,

OK, I see what you are talking about now. It looks line Gary either 
changed the way he adapted the distributor, or there is more than one 
design for the distributor from Nissan. It looks like what would be 
the point plate in a standard distributor is rotated around. Since you 
don't have vacuum advance, the plate should be fixed in the housing. 
Either way, I think it is something Gary will have to either take care 
of, or tell you how to fix.

Is there a reason you can't just put the distributor in and crank it 
around until the timing is correct? It may be that the plug wire 
connections on the cap won't be anywhere close to where they need to 
be once the spark timing is set correctly.
