Good Morning,
I just wanted to share that my 68' "Datsan" 1600 made the Chinook Observer
weekly newspaper and web page (The News Source for Washington's Long Beach
Peninsula since 1900). http://www.chinookobserver.com/
My little car ended up winning 4th in the slow drag competition and believe me
a $50 dollar gift certificate to Ole' Bobs seafood market is nothing to laugh
at. It was really funny to pull up next to these crazy hot rods and rev it up
after they got done tapping the throttle. The contest is really fun and i'm
surprised that more events don't have them: You line up like a drag race and
have 15 feet to go as fast as you want before going over a firehose half filled
with sand, then you have to coast 100ft ( Neutral, no brakes, hands on the
steering wheel so they no you're not cheating) and make it over another
firehose half filled with sand. The person who makes it over the second
firehose and coasts to a stop closest to it is the winner. If you don't make it
over the second fire hose, you loose. The picture was taken after we coasted to
a stop about 4 feet past the hose and the crazy 69' Camaro just barely had
enough juice to get it's back wheels up and over. The street is li!

h people cheering and having a good time. We were flapping the sunvisors if we
needed more speed and my buddy would hold up his jacket like a sail. It was the
only Roadster we saw that weekend, but as always there are lots of people who
had one or knew someone who one.
Have a great day everyone.
