"...downshifted to first gear at 85 mph." Can't believe Nissan's QA guys
didn't test for that, hehehehe.

Main problem with the trany was sheared roll pins. I even sheared them when
they had been doubled. The engine got hammered when my cousin downshifted to
first gear at 85 mph. The engine shrieked, blew off all the belts, and the
rods died a couple hundred miles later. Got a new engine on warranty and
traded it in. Luckily I worked for the dealer.

At least it has a solid axel... more built for drag racing than a 510,
although both have found their way to the strip...

A Datsun Roadster "wasn't built for drag racing." Gee, really? <g>

I like roadsters. My first datsun was a New "69" 2000. I had a ball in it.
But I got tired of rebuilding it. 1 Engine, 2 tranys, in 12,000 miles.
Wasn't built for drag racing. Traded it for a "68" Hemi GTX.
