By the way - the VW Turbo Diesel 1.9 is a great motor. We have TDI New
Beetle and put a performance chip in it boosting HP from 90 to 115 and torque
from 165 to 195 and are getting 40 - 45 MPG. I just came across the Salt
Flats
in Utah and sat on the tail of a 3000 GT at 125 MPH (wanted him to bust the
radar zone first). I think he was wondering what the heck that little green
bug had in it to jump on his tail so quick and stay with him.

Boost kicks in around 1800 rpm and redlines at 4500. We have almost 100K on
the engine and just change the oil every 5k. Might be something interesting
to consider putting in a roadster body if you have no existing drive train.
