MGB-GT, with a twist?

Yep, I have been interested in these since the arrival of my two garage
helpers (now 2.4 and 1.2 yrs old). Saw a neighbor of Victor's (who had
done a rotary swapinto an MGBGT) interior, that had been stripped and
aluminum paneled, and it seemes like a cavern compared to the roadster.
Like the body style, especially now that the Chrysler Crossfire seems to
be a tribute vehicle to this body style.
So my question, stemming from R engine similarity and Lucas electrics
questions is, "So how wouldn't a KA24 and Nissan wiring harness be a
good idea?"
(and possibly the Nissan rear end, as MG's weren't known for the
greatest durability back there)
Note: My uncle managed a Brit car repair place in the SF valley, in the
70's, and found he was doing so many rear end jobs that they got 3
spares and rebuilt them - due to soft gears - and started to offer 3 day
turn-arounds on rear end replacements-as long as you didn't want your
original back)
Ruminating on swap projects, while I can barely keep the existing car on
the road,
