The pressure might drop in the large portion of the line but would increase
again when it goes back to the smaller line size at the carb. The problem may
be in the location of your pressure regulator. The line size needs to be the
same where the regulator is installed as the inlet to the carbs.
You should also note that the drop in pressure is only during dynamic flow. At
static conditions the pressure will be the same in both sizes of fuel line. As
flow increases then the pressure drops more.
It is common for the fuel pickup to get clogged when you coat a gas tank.
Debris in the tank can also clog the pickup. My suggestion is to change the
filters, clean out the fuel pump, verify the fuel pressure at the carbs, and
check the flow rate by pumping into a gas can. You can blow out the fuel line
and pickup with compressed air.
