Same here, But according to the legend they were not on the shoulder, but in
fact just about to enter a traffic circle (aka roundabout or "what the hell
is that" for non New Jersey drivers).  Haven't heard it in 20 years, I
should ask him to tell it again and see if there are any new details.


Driving down the shoulder in reverse WILL get you a ticket, at least in
Texas........
