That's interesting... My order included both the loose needles and the
caged needle bearings. Will this shaft work since the end has a roller
pin and not the notch? The transmission has been at a friend's house,
so I do not have the luxury of seeing these parts first hand.

Eric,
It's the early/late thing. The later one is a little fatter and they
used loose needles rather than caged. All and all a bit more robust.
Last time I needed one the usual venders had them.
