Brad
I'm interested in selling the Lady. I am located in Portland, Oregon and the
third owner of the car. The first, from what I remember, was a dentist, the
second my sister in law. Both were located in eastern Oregon. I've owned the
car since 1976, drove it exclusively from then until 1989 then it was garaged.
There has only been one fender bender, the drivers side front fender. During
the repair at that time the two rear fenders were replaced because of the
typical rust problems. The
fenders where new but not stock, they were from the 2000 model.
The flairs were made to replicate the 1964 style. Some work was also done to
the bottom of the doors, but I can't recall what that was exactly. The engine
and transmission were also replaced at this time. I still have the original
engine and other misc parts from that renovation and parts purchased since.
When I bought the car it was blue so when it was repainted we stayed with
blue.
Some of the chrome parts have slowly been replaced so all the chrome is in
great condition. All of the locks work and the gas tank cap is also lockable.
A chrome luggage rack has been attached to the trunk. The engine and
transmission were replaced in about 1977, I still have the original. The
wheels are now mag but I still have the originals, no hub caps though. The
soft top has been rebuilt using the original wood hold down bar, it has a
small about 1" tear on the drivers side. I don't have a hard top for her.
She's never been autocrossed. I've used it mostly for city driving and a few
longer road trips. Maintenance was great until she was garaged.
Since then I've done nothing. Tha's lead to a few problems. Last time she was
started, about 2 years ago, she ran fine but the brakes were locked up so the
master brake cylinder was removed an not replaced.
I don't have any of her maintenance records. The upholstery needs replacing
and the engine installed in the 1970 is a 1500 engine. I've been looking at
Hemmings
for evaluation price, Nada Guide and Manheim Gold Book and looking
also on eBay. I haven't advertised as yet, would like to go on eBay maybe. I
also have an interested party in Tennessee. Thanks again for your
information, it's been very helpful.
