Before you do too much chasing, CHECK ALL THE GROUNDS.
Really, really weird things happen if you have a bad ground.
In the case of hi screen cars (which yours isn't, but the wiring
may be similar), there's a largish 'eyelet'-style wiring connector
that bolts to the top of the frame on the left side behind the
steering box. This is the ground for most of the front lights, and
if it's loose things get wonky in a hurry.
So check all of the bulb sockets, and the ground wire for each one.
Make sure all the wiring is solid, and any points where wires connect
to the body or frame are clean and tight.
