Grease method has never failed me, no counting how many times, from chevy v8's 
to 1600 roadsters, Nissan L4's and L6's. I use the alingment tool. no damage 
occured, as it does not take a "Sharp Blow" to get things moving. Never had the 
grease shoot out either. Luck could be a factor, but I think the percentage is 
in your favor, that is, you'd need bad luck for it to fail, instead of good 
luck to succede.
