Greetings list.
Well you can add my name to the changing starter dilemma. This holiday
I spent removing the carbs manifold ect. off my 67, getting ready for
Keith's setup and I was putting the mini starter on when I noticed that
the bolts on the existing starter were smaller than the holes and had a
nut on the end. What I found was the threads are rounded over in the
bellhousing and the smaller bolts were the work around for the PO. A
3/8" dia bolt timidly grabs in the hole. Now I sit wondering what would
be the least evasive fix for the problem. I would have to cut the
header off in order to use a helix coil (never used one) Keith O.
recommended oversized self-taping bolts but nowhere in town has any info
on that. Does anyone have any advice I could use?
Thanks
Richard
