Leigh, OK, that's simple enough. You use a "rule of 9". The 2 valves
you are working with must add up to 9. Remove the spark plugs. roll
the car forward until the #1 valve is fully open (spring is fully
depressed). The valve is fully open when the next forward movement of
the car starts the valve stemcoming back up. If this happens. Roll the
car backwards well past the point of full depression then forward again
until the valve is fully open. You always roll the car forward so
tension is kept on the timing chain Rolling backwards allows the chain
to go slack so timing is not accurate. With #1 fully open, you adjust
the last valve - #8. The 2 valves add up to 9. With #2 open, adjust
valve #7, etc. Ted
