Only 11 miles? Try State Route 250 from Staunton, Virginia, north west up
to Elkins, West Virginia. One of CAR & DRIVER'S Top Ten roads in the USA.
Better yet, stay on 250 all the way into Ohio. But make sure you have good
tires and plenty of brakes. A bit of torque might help going over the
mountains too. It's just a short hop of about 300 miles that you might
drive in 7 or 8 hours if you dare!
And if you get as far as Hundred, WV, there's a little restaurant on the
south end of town that serves a good cup of coffee and some great hotcakes!
And it is a great place to catch Hundred's 4th of July parade. If you make
it all the way into Ohio, be careful around Lake Tappan. There is a certain
State Trooper there that just loves to stop red Datsun roadsters. But
that's another story!
