Hello all,

Been trying to figure ways to measure nozzles for wear. Fired up the
lathe and made up a couple of tapered pins. The tapered portion is an inch
long
and covers a .010" range. One for .085 to .095 for 1600 nozzles and the other
from .095 to .105 for 2000 nozzles. Measured along the taper with the
micrometer and marked each .001 with a Sharpie pen. While some pear shaped
wear
might get missed, combined with a visual check it should work pretty well. I
might have found a good use for all those worn 2000 needles I've been
collecting. They would make dandy 1600 gauges.
