Easy to see if you have the problem. Pop the hood open and have someone
else sit in the car. Watch the brake master cylinder and tell them to
press the pedal firmly. If you see ANY movement of the master cylinder
or firewall, you have the problem. More common on late cars but I've
heard of it happening on earlier cars as well. It wouldn't be a bad
idea to put the brace in to stop it from happening to your car even if
you don't have the problem (yet).
