Same thing has happened to me after I put new X over tubes on the
calipers. After a while they would scrape on the inner wheel. Have you
tried jacking the front wheels off the ground and looking at the
clearance between the tubes and wheel??

Good luck Brian.

Subject: strange brake noise

Hi all,
My brakes recently started making a strange noise. My
various attempts to figure out what's causing it have
failed.

It ONLY seems to happen once I've been driving around
for awhile, and only when i'm doing a fairly rapid
deceleration. I would describe the noise best as a
dragging sound, and you can feel it through the pedal
as you're pressing. The car still stops, but it is a
really awful noise-- and since I've had one brake
problem after another with this car, i'm pretty
sensitive about new noises. :)

I've taken off the front wheels, and don't see any
visual evidence of anything dragging. The car is a 69
2000, and in the last 3 months I installed a new
master cylinder, new pads and new hoses.

All hints greatly appreciated! And please reply to me
in addition to the list as I'm not sure i'm getting
all list emails.

-Jessica
