First of all thanks to everyone who responded. It looks like the 7 blade
was original on later model roadsters although mine is a non smog Canadian
car. It has no clutch. As one writer noted, it most likely failed and was
replaced years ago. Most of you also thought the 7 blade fan was very noisy
compared to the 4 blade. You also felt the car should run cool enough with
an original four blade fan. The motor has been rebuilt and the original rad
core flushed and pressure tested. I have waited so long to see this car run
again I will use the existing fan temporarily. I hope to get the car
running sometime this summer. Small children (families) require lots of
