Hi, I have a 66 and would like to know about the 4 speed to 5 speed tranny
swap. I have the 5 speed tranny, 2000 clutch, presure plate, bearing and pilot
bushing. I do not have the plate that goes between the tranny and engine.
Can some one help me find one or can I use my 4 speed plate and take the
difference off on my pilot bushing. My research shows the plate on a 5 speed to
be somewhat thicker and if not used will cause damage to the pilot bushing and
then ultimate failure. I am correct or? Any information would be apprecited.
Also, does anyone have a plate from a 5 speed for sale at a resonable cost?
My gas gauge is not reading properly. What is the best way to find the problem.
I do have a new fuel sender but this is not the only thing that can go wronng.
My last question is, I bought some tires and rims on ebay and they are the
powder coated spiderweb design. And the back rubs on the wheel well. It appears
the back of the car was lowered about 2 inchs. What is the best way to get the
car back up 2 inches so I can put on my tires and rims. Can I use air shocks?
