reasons for ending a listing early, abuse of this option will be

No, if "something" happen to the product before the auction
ended. A legitimate excuse would be, if the item was lost,
broken, stolen, <insert any unchecked excuse here> or if there
was an "error in the listing".
Typical E-bay strict "un-enforceable" policy. What can anyone
do when "...an item that did not meet the desired sale price" due
to an "Error in the listing"?
