Probably a cost issue for the manufacturers and for ease of assembly line
installation. Lots of custom and race cars use mandrel bent hard lines with
a rubber coupler at both ends.
Side note - progress on the "R". Harbor freight engine stand rotisserie is
completed, doors,fenders, and windshield frame removed. Rusted
under-fender rockers repaired with new steel, Mazda Protege gas pedal
modified and installed with ss braided cable, etc. etc. Will update the
website soon.
