Dear List,
Before I generate many messages saying that mechanical oil pressure gages
need no
sender, just a little pipe, I will first say OOOOPS!
I knew this, had a brain fart! In fact I could dig out my Navy Machinist
Mate Rate book and
draw a picture of how the mechanical gage works inside, I think its called a
Bourdon Tube. Basically a bent tube gets straight under pressure and spins
a little
rack and pinion thing which drives needle movement.
So, the gagte in question just needs the proper little pipe adapter and tube
to work, and
maybe some or all of these pieces are included.
Bottom line, looks like a good choice if your low windshield car has an
inaccurate or
broken gage and you dont want to pay a lot for a correct NOS one. (or have
one
remanufactured for big $$)
Once again, oops, sorry for the mis-information.
