Mechanical gauges do not use sending units... only electrical gauges. 
You should just need the 'plumbing' to get from the engine block to 
the gauge. The fitting for the block is a peculiar British thread, if 
memory serves. I found what I needed at egauge.com and I have the 
information, but it's at home. Others on the list may have the info 
at hand.
