Hello list,
Been out of town for several weeks but had my crack team of legal people
looking at the liability issues surrounding the production and sales of
my roll bar. Their report to me is that in order for me to properly
protect myself from lawsuits now and in the future I would have to carry
several million dollars in liability insurance for the rest of my life.
Given the limited number of units that I would or could sell over the
next few years it's just not worth it. Even if I built the unit and sold
it as a "style bar" and put stickers and warning all over it I would
still be responsible if the third or fourth owner of the style bar got
hurt. I've built several models of the roll bar and will be installing
them in my cars but can't sell them. Bummer!
