trying to free up some space here, have a few free 1600 parts cars and a
couple others. 68 2000 has had front fenders and hood replaced with very
decent used, had obviously kicked timing once as front top of cam cover has
been welded. camshaft gear looks real good, I assume they did the whole
timing setup. some rust in rockers and rear wheelwell lips, also there are
sheetmetal patches under both seats. I ran gas straight to the fuel pump and
fired it up, sounded decent, no knocks or strange noises. didn't run it long
as gas was coming out the overflow tubes, so probably the float needles were
stuck from sitting. will go $1200 for this one. fire damaged 67 1600- cowl
needs replacing, interior is toast. was a "restored" car. nice radiator,
engine still clean and can be fired up, looks like ball joints were all
replaced, brakes had been done, new exhaust, body not that bad. will go
$1000 for it. I kept the Panasports and nice chrome that were on it when I
bought it. 3rd one is a 69 2000 I got from Texas formerly out of Washington.
fresh burgundy paint but not a great job... front and rear comp swaybars,
barely functional brakes, cracked windshield but I'll include a good one.
new clutch slave and mcyls, had a good used trans put in by PO as well as
new clutch, PP, throwout bearing. has not been registered since all this was
done. I scarfed up the comp pan, early Solexes and B cam and replaced with
stock parts. still have to put the carbs and manifold on. $2000 as it sits,
a bit more once I get the carbs on and it's running again. been kinda busy
with other stuff. we drove it up on the trailer when I picked it up. pix
available of all. put a nice set of front fenders on the 67 2000 I had out
at Shasta, will be driving it this spring. then I can dig into #6 :-)
actually, I hope to have it dipped and the new rear quarters and back panel
on by spring and go from there.
Best Wishes to all,
Craig Halsted
