I've been going through this as of late so a lot of people I know have been
handing me various contraptions to pull dents.
Dry ice? what the...? Some kind of shrink and form system? I gotta
see that one. When is the next infomercial? =)
I have had good luck with the pick and pry bar system that Tom mentioned.
The whole system is designed to find an appropriately shaped tool to apply
leverage so you can push the dent out from behind. The problems I've had
(with a 30 pc set) were not quite having right sized pick that would fit
(nothing to apply leverage on without making an interior dent); and the
number of cuts and scrapes on my hand and arm from reaching in through the
rough sheet metal.
I thought you were referring to a dent remover kit where you hot glue a plug
on to the dent and basically unscrew or pull it out using their contraption.
There's a $20 version at kragen/checker/pep boys. also

Someone gave me the $20 version however I have not used it yet. The idea
seems sound as long as there are no creases in the dent. Hopefully your
paint can withstand being pulled back (almost like being pulled on your feet
by your hair)... and the feet on the contraption doesn't create 2 more
dents to tend with. =) I'll try it on the last dent I have and let you
know how it did.
My car had a land mine field of bondo spots hidden by the massive layers of
paint. I literally traversed the entire car of land mines missing every one
of them when I inspected the car. **sigh*** I could tell it was real
pro-like because some bondo spots were still soft because not enough
hardener was added... plus the fact that most of the dings and dents were
easily accessible and removed with a single blow of a hammer/slapping spoon
and dolly. Our cars are so thin the "thumb press in the eyeball" technique
worked in some cases.
good luck
