While the Miata may be ubiquitous, it is as close to the Roadster experience
you will get in a modern sports car, especially the earlier cars like my 91.
They are also dirt cheap to buy and own. Insurance is $275 per year.

With all the crazy zany brainless drivers on the road I feel more
comfortable driving my Miata everyday than I do my Roadster. That's not to
say I don't drive my Roadster but it's not my primary summer car anymore.
