The rollbar needs to be at least tall enough so that your head wouldn't hit the 
ground if you did flip.  The suggested method of determining the height is to 
draw a line between the bar and the point at the front of the car that would 
hit.  If your head touches the line then you will probably loose it in a 
rollover.  Unfortunately, in our roadsters that makes the roll bar much higher 
than the top will go over.  In general, a rollbar that fits under the top is 
more for vanity than anything.  This is especially true if the rollbar is only 
connected to sheet metal.  The mounting points need to be attached to the frame 
to keep them from pulling out.  It has been suggested to mount the rollbar on 
the frame with U-bolts that go all the way around the frame tube.
