Listers,
Thought some of you might be curious why I've been kinda quite lately-
I've made quite a bit of progress on the "R", but haven't had time to update
the web site with any new content - been to busy this summer with out of town
company, flooding damage to my business office, a trip to China, family trips
and vacation, SVGP at Mid-Ohio, glass conventions (with the Mrs.) etc., etc.,
etc.
The frame and front suspension have been comletely stripped, painted, and
rebuilt with comp springs, sway bar, and KYB Gas-adjusts. The Ford 8.8 rear
axle, comp springs, and custom aluminum driveshaft are installed.
The V6 engine and tranny have been installed, exhaust hooked up, and the motor
fired - YAHOO!!! I've been working on fine tuning the jetting and accelerator
pump on the Holley 390CFM to match the engine - won't be able to fine tune the
secondaries til next Spring ( hopefully) when it will be on the road.
I've still got to engineer a lateral track locator for the rear end, and have
been playing around with rod-ends, plastic, wood, and thinwall tubing mocking
up different approaches to watts-link, a-frame, wishbone, and panhard to see
which will give the best desired results with the least amount of
fabrication.
Once the rolling chassis is complete, I'll be starting in on the sheetmetal
which I hope to complete over the winter.
I hope to have an update to the website later this month, and I'll fire off a
note to the list when its done.
