For general information, a J return code in the main section of the Nissan
USA price book indicates that the item is not eligible for return by a
local dealer and it does not necessarily mean that no more remain in the
parts system. There are no J code or for that matter any other return code
parts in the Motorsports section of the Nissan USA price book. If one had
read the message about the possible availability of 16174-14600 insulators
one would have seen that it referred to the possibility of the parts being
available through Motorsports. Usually the Motorsports price list deletes
or identifies part numbers that are NLA. This was not like the posting for
the oil hose that had been unavailable from Nissan USA for a long time.
There are lots of part numbers listed in the regular section of the price
book with return codes other than J that are also not available from Nissan
USA. It is a known fact that prices listed in regular section of the
book are increased from time to time even though Nissan USA doesn't sell
them anymore.

Since U-20 cylinder heads and their pricing was mentioned. There was a
batch of new U-20 heads sold by Nissan USA a year or so back and one or
more was offered on the list for resale. Many of them were resold at less
than the $891.08 that was lamented. Now they are all gone. You can't
always wait for items to show up at the "parts dump" for scrap prices. It
has been said that "If you snooze you lose".

It is recommended that posting intentionally misleading or confusing
information to the list be curbed - obfuscation doesn't benefit anyone.
Case in point - Eibach's P/N for the roadster comp front springs is the
same one that Nissan uses so that anyone who ordered the springs used the
Eibach P/N by default. Messages should be honest and while unintentional
mistakes can be made, then that person shouldn't get flak. When a posting
is disputed for factual accuracy then the disputing individual should do
the research required to be accurate before posting. There will always be
disagreements where there is no absolute correct answer.

Sermon is ended. My apologies if it was boring and you went to sleep
especially to those not in USA.

I think that the dead horse has been beaten severely and should now be
buried. I look forward to any additional comments off the list.

Stan

value. Sometimes the parts are available. Chris, I don't know if this is
right ...why don't you try 16174-14610 it is also J, but it has a newer
price in the book which, in some instances, makes more sense for this kind
of part and it's construction than the price of $8.41 for the 14600 that is
listed. The 14610 number can't be the regular insulator block for the 1600
because that one ends in 15801. Let us know what you find out. Dean
