Too bad this brute force method doesn't work on SU carbs. Even if the car
didn't run any better when I was done, at least I'd feel better :)

I use a pickle fork and a 10 pound sledge hammer to get the front end apart.
You have to really whack the pickle fork but it eventually pops loose. I've
also hammered the threaded end of a balljoint with a 3 pound sledge and
gotten it loose but the pickle fork is the better method. There is also a
type of puller that you can buy which is more gentle. I don't know how well
the pullers work because I've never used one. I like whacking stuff with
the sledge too much.
